Embedded Control Designs, LLC (ECD) is dedicated to enabling the world to use swarm technology. ECD’s crop monitoring data collection service empowers farmers who need reliable and efficient crop monitoring solutions. ECD surveys farmers’ crops and provide a simple, yet detailed, summary of the data collected with suggested courses of action. With detailed data about their hundreds of acres of crops, farmers can increase the quality and quantity of their yields, while minimizing wasted resources.

Currently, satellites, manned aircraft, and single-drone systems are being used to acquire this data. Embedded Control Designs is offering a service that allows farmers to obtain the data they need in a way that is as easy as subscribing to a magazine. When a farmer signs a contract with Embedded Control Designs, they receive personalized data summaries about their farms on predetermined dates throughout the duration of the contract.

With the use of its swarm technology, Embedded Control Designs provides this service more reliably, efficiently, and precisely than the competition services and products currently on the market. The company’s drones are equipped with a unique communication architecture that allows them to operate cooperatively as a swarm.

​MICHAEL CAMPOBASSO


​Michael Campobasso is an Accelerated Master’s Engineering Physics student who recently completed his undergraduate in Engineering Physics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. His Master’s thesis topic involves leader-follower formation trajectory generation and tracking for quadrotor swarms. Michael’s passion is to benefit the technological growth in Volusia County by hiring local graduates and current students to work at Embedded Control Designs, LLC.

​SHANE STEBLER


Shane Stebler is a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, completing two degrees and a total of five internships: NASA, SpaceX, Northrop Grumman, and VisSidus. Shane has focused his work on guidance navigation and control, astronautics, spacecraft systems, rocket performance, and quadrotor control. His driving passion is to disrupt the way the world views technology by enabling future generations of engineers and scientists with the tools to research current and future problems.
